On Thursday 2nd June we went to Big Pit to take part in the Beacon Lighting Ceremony and celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee!  Cole and Raya were representing the school as Head Boy and Head Girl and were asked to read a poem about the Queen and her being on the throne for 70 years.

Isla won a design competition to light the beacon, so she did a countdown for the beacon to be lit; but when Isla got to zero the beacon didn’t light and she had to start again!

We also sang the anthem and were awarded with certificates.
