CURRICULUM INFORMATION
The following information about Dosbarth Enfys may be helpful. Upcoming or daily events are communicated via Class Charts (our school messaging platform), newsletters, and our school website. Our Twitter page @bhvcprimary shows how much work we have done in Dosbarth Enfys each week!
Autumn Term
This term the children of Dosbarth Enfys were asked ‘What is bright and beautiful to you?’ The children gave wonderful responses, here are some examples below;
‘I am beautiful! My Mummy is beautiful. My dog is happy and makes me smile.
Ladybugs in my garden. I think books! My house is beautiful.
The Heritage Café is beautiful. The sun and moon are bright.’
The children’s responses will lead the learning this term, they will explore why they are so special and what they need to do to stay healthy. The children will also express in different ways why pets, insects and books make them smile!
The children will enjoy their surrounding beauty with plenty of outdoor walks and activities. They will listen to and retell their favourite stories, fostering a love of books, building upon their language skills and feeding their imagination. The children will be using digital devices to research and find out interesting facts about our amazing insects and animals and how they survive in their different habitats!
Class Information
Literacy and Read, Write, Inc The children of Dosbarth Enfys will be practising reading, writing and blending set 1 sounds every day. Please continue to support their RWI development by using the resources at home too. The children will continue to practise writing their names, drawing basic shapes to express their thoughts and ideas. Class reading and picture books will be given out every Friday and returned every Wednesday.
Maths and Numeracy
The children will join in with number rhymes and songs to support their counting forwards and backwards. They will practise reading and writing their numbers every day. The children will be encouraged to explore both indoor and outdoor environments, finding numbers, shapes, sequences and patterns all around them in their everyday play.
PE Days
Please can your child be prepared for physical activity every
Monday and Friday. On these days please can your child wear their school t-shirt and jumper along with dark joggers/leggings and trainers.
SNACK-TIME
Can parents please provide their child with 1 piece of fruit each day.
Don’t forget to label any drink bottles your child brings into Rainbow Class and that the drink is water. Milk is available daily for all children.
CLOTHES
Please can parents remember to provide a complete change of clothes for their child. This needs to be in a carrier or drawn string bag on their peg. Just a reminder to check that your child’s clothes are clearly labelled, with their names, to ensure there is no confusion over items, especially jumpers and cardigans.
