Spring 2 Update

Welcome to another episode of HeriCast! Today, some of our Year 5 Digital Leaders will be looking back at the amazing things that have been happening in and around our school, throughout the Spring 2 term!

Today on the Heritelly Podcast we are joined by Sophie Johnson, who is the Community Wellbeing Development Officer for Blaenavon Town Council, and Liam Cowles who is a Councillor for Torfaen County Borough Council.

Today, BHVC had a visit from Mr South, who is the Education Liaison Officer for National Grid. He came in to deliver a workshop to Year 2 classes, and talk about the important job that electricity does.

We were recently joined by Mr Jeff Cuthbert, who is the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, and also CSO Williams, who is part of the Next Gen Youth Engagement Team. Our Heddlu Bach had plenty of questions to ask, about the role of the Police and Crime Commissioner, and also about policing in the Torfaen area.

Georgina and Mark from Blaenavon Community Council dropped in to talk to us about their role as Community Councillors, and the amazing work that they do in and around Blaenavon. Year 6 pupils were ready with the questions!

Funding from an application made to the Arts Council and Welsh Government has enabled our pupils to participate in an amazing project, led by local Welsh artist Nathan Wyburn.
