Funding from an application made to the Arts Council of Wales and Welsh Government has enabled our pupils to participate in an amazing project, led by local Welsh artist Nathan Wyburn.

Art is something that our children love at BHVC Primary- however this project was going to be a little different, as Nathan specialises in creating art with non-traditional mediums. Our children even got to paint with chocolate sauce!

The project focused on re-engaging learners by having fun, being creative and working collaboratively, as well as producing artwork to be displayed in our school. The subjects chosen were those that made the children feel safe and happy in their community and in school- such as Jesus, The Church, our wellbeing dog and teachers.

Nathan was a huge inspiration to the children, encouraging them to follow their dreams whether it may be through art, music, sport or whatever they enjoy doing.

At the end of the project some of the Year 5 children recorded a podcast with Nathan in our TV Studio, to find out more about him, his journey and the creative process.  We hope you enjoy listening to it!
