The children had such a fun and exciting week, during our successful ‘Welsh Week!’ We worked in our year group bubbles, to show off their fantastic Welsh skills!

Mrs Price would like to give a big thank you to all the families that helped with the Welsh Cake Secret Ingredient homework. Mrs Howells and Mrs Coombs thought they were absolutely delicious and really enjoyed guessing the secret ingredient. All the children who took part had a certificate to celebrate.

The children looked really smart in their Welsh costumes, many thanks to all of our families for making this possible. Everybody took part in a Year Group Eisteddfod, both in class and virtually. The children especially enjoyed cooking and tasting their own Welsh cakes in school!

They produced beautiful artwork, that was inspired by various Welsh artist from across Wales. The artwork has been displayed in our school to celebrate their artistic achievements and it looks stunning.  We danced to Jay Y Do (a Welsh folk dance) and enjoyed performing this within our year groups.

Everybody produced a beautiful piece of Welsh handwriting, which have been displayed in the classrooms.  We also took part in singing various Welsh songs and rhymes, as well as performing our Welsh National Anthem. This made us proud to be part of our community and Wales!

The week ended well with year group virtual gatherings to proudly celebrate and showcase all of the children’s super hard work. Finally, we awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for the art and handwriting.

Although, we can’t wait for next year to take part in a Whole School Eisteddford.

Da iawn bawb!
