We were so lucky to have such hot weather for our key stage 2 sports day. The children participated in several activities such as tug of war, the agility challenge and also javelin all run by the year 6 pupils who were all very excited to be able to help younger children as it is their last sports day in primary.

All of the children were excited to run in lots of different races such as the long distant race, the sprint race and the bean bag shuttle. As a prize for participating in each race they had a sticker even if they hadn’t come in the top 3. Everyone was exhausted by the end of the long distant race as they had to do a whole lap around the field but the teachers and the parents were at the end cheering to help them persevere to the end.

The children were overwhelmed that they got to see their parents take part in a race there was a mum’s race and also a dad’s race. Some people fell over in the race the audience were very supportive by clapping them on at the end they all got a well-deserved sticker.

Everyone in the school was very proud of the children and parents for participating in the races all the teachers did an amazing job with giving them plenty of practise sessions were sure that they all had fun and hopefully this heat wave carries on.
