Children In Need

A fantastic amount was raised for Children In Need 2021… £1,857.00!!!
We had a huge response from all the families who supported their children to do a sponsored ramble in Forest School and also contributions given for biscuits to be decorated Pudsey style!

Year 6 – WHC Virtual Tour

We have been unable to take any school trips this year due to the pandemic, but in Year 6 we recently had the opportunity to visit the town’s World Heritage Centre via a virtual tour!

Community Litter Pick

On Wednesday 14th April, we went litter picking around the Elgam Green Area, and collected 4 bags full of rubbish.  

Before we started we put our green hi-vis jackets on and got our litter pickers and also wore boots so that we wouldn’t get stung. We had to wear our coats because it looked as if it was going to rain as the sky was turning dark.

Broad Street – Now & Then

Today the Little Voices Team went to meet with our intergenerational group at the Workmen’s Hall.  We walked from school down to the hall, paying attention to all of the shops in Broad Street.

Christmas Fete

Earlier this afternoon we held our annual Christmas Fete in the sports hall. This year we had lots of different activities organised for everyone to enjoy- including music, refreshments and of course Santa’s Grotto.

Dementia Friendly Day

Today we went to the Workmen’s Hall in Blaenavon for a Dementia Friendly Training Day to meet people who have dementia, and to learn about how it affects someone’s body and the impact it has on their life. We were very lucky to meet Gavin, who was happy to share his story with us.

Garden of Remembrance

Today Year 6 pupils visited the cenotaph in Blaenavon. As part of the visit there was an unveiling of a commemorative plaque to remember soldiers from Blaenavon who died during the Boer War.

Wales v Georgia

We were all really excited as Year 5 and Year 6 were invited to Blaenavon Rugby Club to watch Wales v Georgia in their opening game of the Rugby World Cup.

Summer Fete

This afternoon we held our annual summer fete in the MUGA! There were all sorts of stalls and fun activities to enjoy- such as an inflatable slide, the dodgeball challenge, higher or lower, hook the duck, tin can alley, darts, and a refreshments stall.
