Christian Values

Blaenavon Heritage is Church in Wales voluntary controlled primary school. We are members of the Monmouthshire Diocese.

We provide a Christian family for all children where they learn to their full potential, know that they are loved, can feel confident and secure and where they can share in the adventure of growing up.
We base our curriculum on Christian songs and underpin it with Christian values. These songs are:

All Things Bright And Beautiful
Who Put The Colours in The Rainbow?
The Whole World In His Hands
Let There Be Peace On Earth
One More Step Along The World I Go
You Make Me Brave
We have daily collective worship in school and regularly invite members of the community to join with us.

We welcome children and families of all faiths and no faith. We celebrate other faiths and non-religious views throughout the school, and learn about them through our Religion, Values and Ethics curriculum. We encourage and support children to grow as spiritual beings and to develop their own personal views and beliefs, while respecting the views and beliefs of others.

Our pupil voice groups are actively involved in promoting the Christian ethos throughout our school and community. The Worship Team enhance our classroom Prayer and Reflection Spaces. The Digital Leaders and Criw Cymraeg support with the leading of collective worship. In the summer term, our school band learn to play a range of worship songs. Our Eco Committee encourage us to care for creation. The School Council take the lead in supporting charities and Little Voices regularly support community activities.
