In our Foundation phase Discovery class, we have been looking at archaeology. The children have been digging for artefacts in our outdoor area. We have also looked at real archaeological ‘digs’ online to show us how real archaeologists find out about the past.
We have learnt about famous archaeologists and the artefacts they have found that have made them famous, such as Mary Anning who found Jurassic marine fossil beds in Dorset.
Our Key Stage 2 Discovery class have been studying space, the children have been looking at planets, phases of the moon and the sun. The children have written fact files on each planet.
The children have researched famous astronauts, such as Neil Armstrong and discovered why he is famous. They have created a 3D solar system and designed their own planet.
